DNV 2.7-1 2006

Once you have chosen the DNV 2.7-1 2006 code/standard you will be presented with the Details tab as shown in the figure below.

This is where you are able to insert project details such as:

A Project Name;
A Project ID;
Your Company Name;
The Designer;
The Client; and
Any other notes you would like to include

DNV

The DNV tab has three main categories. These are the Setup, Dimensions + Masses and Padeye Design.

Setup

The Setup section of the DNV tab has three components to it as you can see in the figure below.

The Type of Lifting can be either Symmetric or Asymmetric. If the Type of Lifting is Symmetric the Number of Padeyes can be 1,2 or 4 and you must enter the relevant Padeye Leg Angle. However if the Type of lifting is Asymmetric you must precalculate and enter the dimensions a,b,w and h.

Dimensions + Masses

The Dimensions + Masses section of the DNV tab has eight components to it as you can see in the figure below.

The components are all predetermined values you need to calculate.

Padeye Design

The Padeye Design section of the DNV tab has three types of Padeyes to choose from can see in the figure below.

Click on the type of Padeye that you are going to be using and fill in the information required, shown on the left side of the figure above.

Once you have designated your Details, Factors, Members and Forces click the Check Design button shown in the figure below to run the design check which will then mean you can check the Results tab as shown in the figure below.

You are also able to create a Design Report by clicking the Design Report button.

Your Company logo will be included on the Design Report along with many other great account features if you have an Enterprise Account.
