The role is a mix of applying qualified structural engineering skills as well as a desire to hone your programming skills. We want someone who has an entrepreneurial mind, an established network and a strong technical background in structural analysis and design! The role is a mix of product development , technical development, account management for API users, customer support and marketing with overall accountabilities in the implementation process of the API. As a minimum, the successful candidate should have:
  • Experience in structural analysis and design
  • Experience in programming languages such as Javascript, JQuery, HTML and CSS, PHP, Python and NodeJs, C++ and .NET framework
  • Experience or interest in Business Development
  • Able to legally live and work in Australia
  • A Bachelor in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering

Location: Sydney, Australia Experience: 5- 7 years in Structural Engineering SkyCiv is looking for a driven Senior Structural Engineer with experience in the field of structural analysis and design (minimum experience of 5 - 7 years required). For a detailed description of the job requirements please see below;  Structural Design & Analysis
  • Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
  • Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
  • Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
  • Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads
  • Designing structures to ensure they do not collapse, bend, twist or vibrate in undesirable ways
  • Develop and assess structural designs for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects
  • Perform load calculations, stress analysis, and risk assessments to ensure safety and functionality
  • Apply Australian Standards (AS) and Eurocode to ensure compliance with industry regulations
Engineering Software & Technical Execution
  • Use structural analysis software such as SkyCiv, Spacegass, ETABS, SAP2000, and Revit to model and simulate structures
  • Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and 3D modelling to predict structural performance
  • Review, validate, and optimise engineering drawings and technical specifications
Project Coordination & Collaboration
  • Work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met
  • Provide technical guidance and design support during all project phases
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure structural integrity and compliance with design intent
Safety & Quality Assurance
  • Identify and mitigate potential structural risks throughout the design and construction process
  • Ensure materials and construction methodologies comply with strength, durability, and safety standards
  • Keep up to date with building codes, safety regulations, and engineering best practices
Reporting, Documentation & Quality Assurance
  • Prepare detailed structural reports, feasibility studies, and compliance documentation for regulatory approval
  • Communicate technical findings and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and government authorities
  • Validate and cross-check software-generated results against engineering principles to ensure accuracy and reliability

SkyCiv is looking for a full stack developer with strong mathematical skills to work autonomously and with our team on various projects, including: Website front and back development, product improvements, UI/UX improvements (HTML, JavaScript, CSS) and more. This is a hands-on and high impact opportunity.  SkyCiv is the first cloud-based Structural Engineering software. However, we are looking for a pure software or web developer to join the team. At SkyCiv we believe in working quickly and effectively. We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in web development, to build on and improve our current platform as well as work on projects from scratch. We are looking for someone who is available Full Time, with a keen and enthusiastic attitude. Duties will include:
  • Working with product development team on core and design products
  • Updating and maintaining the improvements on the roadmap for the general platform
  • Focusing on vector math related functionality
  • Working closely with the team on integrations of other key software (Stripe) 
  • Supporting the structural design team build software solutions
  • Working with the SkyCiv API to help clients and partners integrate their own solutions
