Two-storey building

This two storey RC building consists of 155 nodes and 143 members. The structure also comprises of 16 plate members. One interesting feature about this structure is the extension of the support to include the depth of the footing. The ground level is braced with tie-beams, which acts as a fixed joint. This makes them useful particularly for structures with pinned supports, where the moments are considered to be released, as the joint can take in moment forces. Fixed supports, while not truly fixed, can be assumed so if the soil conditions as well as the footing design fits the criteria for a fixed condition.
